Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information askandy.co.za collects, why, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who is responsible

What we collect

• From the payment form: your name, email address, mobile number (if you provide it), the amount and the cause you choose.
• From Bob Pay, after you pay: the payment status, reference, amount, payment method and the name of the bank you paid from.
• Technical information: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver and protect the site.

We never receive your card number, banking login or account details. You enter those on Bob Pay’s secure page or in your banking app.

Why we collect it

• to create your payment with Bob Pay and send you a receipt
• to know where to direct your payment
• to process refunds and answer your questions
• to keep records and prevent fraud

We don’t use your information for marketing, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

• Bob Pay (a division of Bob Group (Pty) Ltd), which processes your payment.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Cloudflare may process information outside South Africa under appropriate safeguards.
• Anyone we’re legally required to share it with.

Charities and car guards don’t receive your personal details.

What’s shown publicly

The site may display running totals per cause, such as the number of payments and the total amount. These totals contain no names or contact details.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, or analytics. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse.

How long we keep it

Payment records are kept for as long as needed to handle refunds and meet record-keeping and tax obligations, generally five years, and then deleted.

How we protect it

The site runs only over HTTPS. Our Bob Pay keys are stored as encrypted secrets on the server and never sent to browsers, and every payment notification is verified with Bob Pay before it’s trusted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it’s used. Email support@askandy.co.za. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes

We’ll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
